Wednesday

Pioneer Clubs is a group that meets weekly consisting of grades Pre-K - 6. There are 4 classes: Pre-K & Kindergarten, 1^st & 2^nd grade, 3^rd & 4^th grade, and 5^sth & 6^th grade. Pioneer clubs uses age based examples to teach young children about basic bible principles and also has hands-projects for each group as well.

Youth group is also a weekly meeting group that consists of grades 7 - 12. This group focuses on getting deeper into the Word and learning more about how to better serve God. The youth typically do service projects and missions trips. These have ranged from spending a week in a rural Pennsylvania town helping out local residents and also talking with them to helping out at local places such as the Pregnancy Support Center and a food kitchen in Canton, Ohio. In the summer, the youth do a 'tour of homes'. Rather than meeting at the church, they hold meetings at a different youth member's house.

In this class there are a variety of topics discussed and focused on. This class is typically led by our pastor, Cal Hamblin.

Sunday

SONshine Island is a children's ministry program that includes puppets, music, Bible stories, a treasure chest of prizes, learning and fun! It is open to children age 3 through 5th grade.

We offer several different classes during our Sunday School hour. These classes span the entire range of ages within the congregation. There is a class for younger children, our youth, and several adult classes. These range from bible study to men's accountability group to devotional exchange. We offer several different kinds of classes because we know that not all people enjoy a single type of studying the bible and having fellowship with one another.

Our worship service here at Amherst is somewhat non-traditional. We sing hymns as well as praise choruses. We often times have special music prepared by individuals or groups. We also have special guest speakers occasionally, such as previous pastors of the church, missionaries that are back home for a brief period and a variety of others.
