Pastoral Staff

Let us introduce you to our pastoral staff members!

Senior Pastor

Galen Oakes II

Galen, along with his wife, Malinda, were invited to serve our church in 2012. They have two children who are both married with children of their own, making pastor Galen and Malinda proud grandparents to four beautiful grandchildren.

Pastor Galen's heart to reach those who have not yet heard about Christ's love overshadows everything he does. A man who has experienced God's healing hand in his own life, he is eager to share about the saving grace of our Lord and Savior!

Minister of Visitation

Atlee Hershberger

Atlee and his wife, Janet, have been faithfully serving the Lord for decades in many different capacities including Senior Pastor, Missionary, and in his current role as Minister of Visitation at Amherst. They have an ever growing family that fills their lives with love!

Atlee's love of God is genuine and deep. His heart of compassion is evident to all who are blessed to have a conversation with him. When members of our church are sick or hurting, Atlee is quick to respond with Christlike love.

Worship Pastor

Joy Brown

Joy was invited to serve as our church as Worship Pastor in 2010. She has since married and now she and her husband, Shane, have two beautiful children who fill their lives with blessings.

Joy seeks to encourage our congregation to live a lifestyle of worship to the Lord! While music is a wonderful tool to worship God, she recognizes that everything we do should be done out of heartfelt worship of our King! With this in mind, Joy seeks to include music, prayer, drama, scripture reading, and other forms of worship into our services all year long.
